Every February, Daytona International Speedway hosts NASCAR’s biggest race of the year — the Daytona 500 — about 50 miles south of St. Augustine and roughly 25 miles south of Palm Coast. It’s the single largest crowd draw of the entire NASCAR season, and lodging within an hour of the speedway sells out months in advance.

Staying 25–50 miles north in Palm Coast or St. Augustine puts you within an easy highway drive of the speedway, while giving you a quieter, more comfortable home base — private pool, real bedrooms, and a kitchen — instead of a packed hotel strip.
